TO THE POINT
Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts in association with Reynolds Media presents To The Point, a news and discussion show about national and regional issues every week on XL7-TV in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
In the informational yet satirical vein of HBO's Politically Incorrect and Real Time, To The Point brings host and CCIA Creative Director Larry Brody together with a panel of local pundits and special guests to illuminate and poke fun at current events.
Recurring panelists on the show include Vincent Anderson, a former minister who describes himself as a "Constitutional Fundamentalist," David Deines, another former minister who has been called "Our Own Little Neocon," Angela Foxhawk, a current Unitarian minister and "Rampant Liberal," and Jim Smith, who has never been a minister of any kind and is "liberal enough to be a member of the local Democratic Party Committee." When this group gets together with the likes of Arkansas State Senator Jim Holt (who campaigned for the U.S. Senate on a "Protect Marriage" platform) and Mountain Home Mayor Ed House just about anything can happen. Certainly, just about anything gets said.
Local dignitaries and celebrities appearing on To The Point include The Presley Brothers Comedy Team, Texas Current Events Commentator Mary Ellen Krueger, renowned regional journalist Si Dunn, Middleweight Boxing Champion Jermain Taylor, U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln, and just about anyone else who comes anywhere near the studio.
Audiences in and around North Central Arkansas can find XL7-TV at Channel 7 on their broadcast dial and Channel 22 on Cox Cable. The rest of you will have to wait, but with any luck it won't be for very long because CCIA is working hard to bring a syndicated version of To The Point to a station near you. Is this a threat or a promise? See for yourself!
