LIVE! FROM PARADISE!
Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts Creative Director Larry Brody has signed on with Gannett Newspapers to write a newspaper column about life in rural America.
The column, called "LIVE! FROM PARADISE!", chronicles Brody's adjustment to living in the Ozarks after spending over thirty years in L.A., presenting Brody's perspective on the people around him and the place he now calls home. And it shows how his new neighbors perceive him as well.
Sometimes funny, sometimes philosophical, sometimes sad, "LIVE! FROM PARADISE!" gives readers both the wisdom and the foibles of real people in a very real place, and never underestimates the power of the woods and the mountains - and the spirits that reside there as well.
One critic has called Brody's approach, "Garrison Keillor gone deep." Another has said, "At last! Somebody who can present the backwoods without mockery." The highest praise of all, as far as Brody is concerned, came from an Arkansas neighbor: "I know these people."
You can know them too. You can find "LIVE! FROM PARADISE!" every Wednesday on the editorial page of The Baxter Bulletin in Mountain Home, Arkansas, and on its web site. (Just click "Opinion," do a site search for Larry Brody.)
"LIVE! FROM PARADISE!" also appears regularly at Rense.Com, one of the most-visited (10 million visitors per month) sites on the web.
Or if you're looking for the complete collection you can find all the columns, each posted within hours of their first newspaper appearance on Larry Brody's "LIVE! FROM PARADISE!" Blog at:
