"DREAMCATCHER" SHORT FILM CONTEST
Rules

  1. The Dreamcatcher Short Film Contest is open to ALL writers in all countries in the world except as expressly forbidden in paragraph 9 below.
  2. Writers-submittors may enter as many times as they wish, but each entry must be accompanied by the proper entry fee. (See ENTRY FORM for amount.) This fee can be paid by check, international money order or cashier's check in U.S. funds.
  3. Entries can be submitted by Mail or the equivalent messenger service. The ENTRY FORM must be enclosed.
  4. Each entry must be 5 minutes or less in length. Music videos often tell complete stories in 3 minutes. We can do it too.
  5. Regardless of its original medium, each entry must be submitted in VHS format, clearly labeled with title, director, writer and production company if any.
  6. All material must be the property of the submittor(s). It must be original work created by the submittor(s).
  7. The submittor(s) must have their own copies of the material being submitted, and agrees not to hold Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts, Inc. and/or its employees and representatives responsible should loss of the submitted material occur.
  8. All entries in the current running of the Dreamcatcher Short Film Contest must be postmarked by or before Midnight, May 15, 2005.
  9. Employees of Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts, Inc. and/or its representatives are ineligible for entry.

Tips

The purpose of the Dreamcatcher Short Film Contest is twofold. Entries which demonstrate an understanding of the purpose will prosper as a result. Therefore:

  • This contest is intended to encourage innovation and creativity. This means that entries which tell new stories in new ways will have a better chance of winning. Experimentation should be your watchward. Show the judges things they have never seen before.
  • This contest is intended to encourage meaningful themes and powerful emotions. This means that entries which communicate an awareness of the human condition will have a better chance of winning. Show the judges your ability to present human needs, desires and passions.
  • If, in the opinion of the judges and/or creative staff of Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts, Inc., no entry or entries meet the standards for placing First, Second, or Third in this contest, CCIA reserves the right to withhold the placings, and the prizes that accompany them. This contest aims to reward excellence and will not be "graded on the curve."
