Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts

NEW "LIVE! FROM PARADISE!" COLUMN & PODCAST EVERY WEDNESDAY!

OUR MISSION

To foster and advance creativity and interest in literary and media arts by helping new artists develop their talents and skills, and to create an environment of respect, appreciation, and support for the arts in the community at large.

OUR BELIEFS

We believe that:

The arts are an integral part of human existence which may in fact define what humanity is; no other being on the planet creates for the express purpose of bringing truth and beauty to itself and others.

The arts enrich and fulfill the lives of both those who create and those who appreciate them.

The arts must never be viewed as the privilege or property of a elite group of creators or patrons; the arts are for everyone to create and appreciate regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, sex, economic status, etc.

Artists must be empowered, encouraged, and enabled (educated) to do their work and enrich us all through their contributions to our culture.

The general public must be empowered, encouraged, and enabled (educated) to avail itself of the opportunities for enrichment which are offered by appreciation of the arts.

For a community to truly be creative it must be without "gatekeepers;" no one must interfere with the interaction between those who create and those who appreciate the creation; meaning, relevance, beauty, and even truth cannot be second-guessed by intermediaries; all artists not only must have access to the process of creation but also to venues of presentation as well.

OUR METHOD

Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts brings together artists in the fields of literature, motion pictures, television, video, stage, and related disciplines. These artists are part of a creative community that includes internet classes, traveling and onsite seminars, and live-in instruction and development of their artistic works.

CCIA is dedicated to simultaneously encouraging new talent and recognizing experienced talent by bringing newcomers (as "students") and seasoned professionals (as "teachers") together to exchange ideas, skills, and artistic visions so that everyone involved can grow and mature and create works of art that contribute to our culture. Teachers aid students; students aid teachers. No participant has any kind of "veto" power over the work of any other participant.

CCIA teachers and students interact with the general public via public presentations, exhibitions, and classes designed to give the public greater understanding of and appreciation for the arts. In this way the general public benefits as much as the artists.

Working together and separately, teachers and students at CCIA create works of art which will be presented to the general public in the appropriate media. To do this, CCIA currently is developing its own venues for publication, production, distribution, promotion, and sale of art developed under its auspices.

OUR VISION

Our vision of the future shows us a time when all men and women, regardless of their backgrounds, will be able to enrich their lives by fulfilling the promise of their creative dreams, either as creators or as consumers and appreciators of the creations. In this future there are no limits on what the arts can be other than the imaginations and abilities of the artists, and the understanding and appreciation of those for whom the artists have created their work.

It has been said that for human beings, to live is to dream. The vision of Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts is of a future in which the dreams of people everywhere combine with reality and elevate us all beyond mere existence to true fulfillment.
